Dr. Robert MacKenzie is a Family Therapist,
Educational Psychologist, and nationally recognized Parent Educator and
Staff Development Trainer with more than 25 years of
experience helping parents and teachers solve children’s
learning and behavior problems. He is the author of three best-selling
books.
His first book,
Setting Limits, helps parents teach rules and establish
clear, firm boundaries for children of all ages and temperaments. His
second book, Setting
Limits in the Classroom, is a skill-training
program
for teachers in effective classroom management. Setting Limits with Your
Strong-Willed Child helps
parents and teachers teach rules and gain cooperation from challenging,
hard-to-raise children who engage us in
more testing and power-struggles.
Dr. MacKenzie received his M.A. in Educational
Psychology from the University of California at Davis in 1977 and his
doctorate in Counseling and Educational Psychology from the University
of San Francisco in 1990. In addition to providing family counseling
and parent/teacher training workshops, Dr. MacKenzie writes for
magazines and educational journals and consults privately with schools,
hospitals, parent/teacher organizations, colleges, church groups, and
wide variety of community service agencies.
